We value your privacy and we process your data inline with existing Spanish legislation and European Directives regarding the processing of data, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

When you submit an enquiry to us via our website, or social media accounts, or when you complete a contact form and send it to us electronically, you are providing specific consent for us to receive that data.

Who you are submitting your data to

When you submit your information to us, this information is received on the electronic devices (laptops, computers, and mobile phones) belonging to PETS IN SPAIN or partners that work with us to provide care, adoption or fostering services for the animals.

What happens to your data ?

Irrespective of the device used, all information is stored securely and we take every possible real world care of your data.

We never sell your data for any reason, or in any way pass your data on to another person, company or organisation, unless that is specifically necessary to provide the assistance you are asking for.

For instance, we might be asked to provide your personal information to our veterinary clinics so that the animal you have adopted or fostered can receive treatment.

We might also be asked to provide your information to legal authorities here in Spain, for example, if you were a witness to an act of animal cruelty.

We do not produce any marketing material of any type and we use your data only to complete the adoption process of an animal you are be interested in, or to provide veterinary treatment which you have requesed help with .

If you consent to a photograph being taken at one of our charity events, when you adopt or foster an animal then you are consenting to that photograph being used to raise awareness of the charity, encourage donations and increase the number of people who offer to adopt or foster an animal.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep your data only for as long as is reasonably necessary to ensure the safety and well being of the animal which you have chossen to adopt or foster.

We keep data from individual enquiries that do not result in a adoption or foster home for a animal for a maximum of 28 days.

If you adopt an animal from us we will keep your data, including the data completed on the pre-adoption form only as long as it nessacary to complete the adoption process and ensure that the animal is in loving and safe environment.

We respect your rights to your data

You have the right to remove consent for us to use your data at any time.

Simply get in-touch with us via any method detailed on our contact us page and we will immediately delete your data and any information we hold about you.

Please note that if you have adopted or fostered from us previously, we will remove your data from our electronic systems and devices, but we cannot destroy your pre-adoption form until a maximum of 3 months have passed subsequent to the adoption or the foster animal has found a permant home.
